On Heroes Footsteps (3 days)
In brief
Exciting crossing travel through of the Park from the slopes of Maglić to the crests of Zelengora, passing through untouched Careva forests and canyons, scene of the heroic breakthrough of the partisan brigades. A true “storytelling adventure” on the path of Nature and History.

Programme*
Day 1: Easy trek from Prijevor Pass to Lake Trnovacko and long descent into Suški Canyon. Transfer to Donje Bare, setting up the campsite. Stories and History around the fire. (+250; 5h; 14km)
Day 2: Long and immersive hike along less-known paths crossing the wildest area of Zelengora (Careva Gora), reaching Ljubin Grob following the breakthrough of the freedom fighters. Descending to Black Lake. Short transfer to the village of Vrbnica. Traditional shepherds dinner. (+960; 7h; 20km)
Day 3: MTB ride down to Tjentište and guided tour of the Memorial of the Battle of Sutjeska. (+250; 2h; 19km). The MTB ride can be avoided and substituted with van transfer to the Memorial.
Overnights: mountain huts or tents and rural guesthouse.

NECESSARY: trekking shoes; mountain sandal/sneakers; rain/windproof jacket; backpack (min 45 L); water bottle (1,5L); technical t-shirts (min. 3) and long pants (min 2); sleeping bag; headlamp; mosquito repellent (June-August).

Transfer (round trip) from/to starting point (Prijevor Pass) from Tjentište/Foča. Certified Mountain Guidance Service. Transport of tents (if needed) and cooking service (dinners).
